A fresh coat of snow on Garden of the Gods and Pikes Peak

COLORADO SPRINGS – The Pikes Peak Area Council of Governments is accepting comments on the Federal Transit Administration Section 5310 funding recommendations through Saturday, April 13, 2024.

Section 5310 is a formula program that provides PPACG funds for contract mobility services in the Colorado Springs Urbanized Area. These transportation services are designed to improve mobility and meet the needs of seniors and individuals with disabilities. FTA provides funds for transportation carried out to meet the special needs of seniors and individuals with disabilities when public transportation and complementary paratransit services are insufficient, inappropriate or unavailable. Projects must be targeted toward meeting the transportation needs of seniors and individuals with disabilities, although they may be used by the public on an incidental basis.

The recommendations are available for review online. Public comments will be accepted through Saturday, April 13, 2024, and will be accepted through an online form.

All comments received will be made available on the PPACG website after the public comment period ends. The comments received will be reviewed by staff and the PPACG Transportation Advisory Committee, Community Advisory Committee and Board of Directors.
