AGENDA ITEM 1: CALL TO ORDER / ESTABLISH A QUORUM / INTRODUCTIONS (Four [4] voting members)

Vice Chair Aaron Simeraro called the meeting to order. A quorum was present.

AGENDA ITEM 2: AGENDA APPROVAL

Mr. Mark Bowers motioned to approve, Ms. Kathy Lowry seconded. The motion carried unanimously.

AGENDA ITEM 3: CONSENT ITEMS

These items will be acted upon as a whole, unless they are called up for discussion by a committee member or a citizen wishing to address the committee.

  1. Approval of minutes from the May 28, 2024 meeting.* Ms. Roni Gordon motioned to approve, Ms. Emily Covarrubias seconded. The motion carried unanimously.

AGENDA ITEM 4: PUBLIC COMMENTS/PRESENTATIONS

  1. Public Comments. Public comments can be made before or during the meeting. Public comment during the meeting is limited to three minutes and can be done at the meeting location or remotely by using the posted Microsoft Teams link. Individuals are encouraged to notify the meeting organizer at ppacg@ppacg.org before the start of the meeting with the agenda item they would like to comment on. Public comments can be submitted before the meeting via email to ppacg@ppacg.org for distribution to the committee members

A reminder MCC still needs a 2nd Vice Chair. Mr. Jacob Matsen introduced Kevin Teagarden, the new Senior Transit Planner.

AGENDA ITEM 7: COMMUNITY GUEST AND PROVIDER PRESENTATIONS

AGENDA ITEM 8: TRAINING / INFORMATION SHARING / COORDINATION OPPORTUNITIES

  1. Specialized Transit Plan – updates. The draft is being circulated and will go through public comment and then on to MCC, TAC. Mr. Jacob Matsen is seeking the formal due date from contractors. The Regional Transit Plan draft will be coming next. MCC will address operationalized strategies to meet the goals outlined.
  2. Discuss content to share with new City of Colorado Springs Planning and Development Director. Tie to 2050 Transit and Specialized Transit Plan. Mr. Jacob Matsen confirmed that his Public Works department is separate from the Planning and Development department. However, as the 2050 Regional Plan meetings convened there have been city planners from many departments in attendance.
  3. TRE on Medicaid transit changes – pending for July. CASTA hosted an NEMT credentialing workshop on 6/25 from 12-1. They are asking for driver information to be put into a database that may also include two drug tests, vehicles must be inspected. CASTA has been asked to set up an inspection site in Colorado Springs.
  4. Social gathering. Doodle poll will be shared.
  5. Updates
    • Silver Key – Ecolane was implemented in April. For Silver Key despite being down three drivers, they managed to provide more rides.
    • FVSC – Drivers are adjusting to the new routes with Ecolane.
    • Mountain Metro – Free Fare for Better Air kicks off July 1 – August 31.
    • City of Fountain – also doing Free Fare for Better Air.
    • Teller Senior Coalition – has a new vehicle.
    • The Independence Center – Festable is July 26 from 10-2. The ADA anniversary celebration.
