Meetings will be held in a hybrid format to allow in-person attendance as well as a remote option.

AGENDA ITEM 1: CALL TO ORDER / ESTABLISH A QUORUM / INTRODUCTIONS

Chair Sharon Thompson called the meeting to order at 8:59 a.m. A quorum was established.

AGENDA ITEM 2: AGENDA APPROVAL

AGENDA ITEM 3: INTRODUCTIONS/PUBLIC COMMENTS/PRESENTATIONS

  1. Jumpstart the Aging Workforce Solutions (JAWS) Update-Jody Barker, AAA Director & Penny Whitney
  2. Public Comments. Public comments can be made before or during the meeting. Public comments during the meeting is limited to three minutes and can be done at the meeting location or remotely by using the posted Microsoft Teams link. Individuals are encouraged to notify the meeting organizer at ppacg@ppacg.org before the start of the meeting with the agenda item they would like to comment on. Public comments can be submitted before the meeting via email to ppacg@ppacg.org for distribution to the committee members.
  3. Military Installation Reports
    • Colonel Cheo Stallworth, United States Air Force Academy, announced that they successfully graduated 974 2nd lieutenants into the Air and Space Force on May 30, 2024, 93 of those members went to the Space Force. Lieutenant General Clark retired, and Major General Thomas Sherman is filling in until General Tony Bauernfeind the new superintendent and is confirmed by the Senate by mid-July. There will be 1,100 new trainees for in processing day on June 26, 2024. Pine Drive will be closed from June 17-July 27 for a full depth repair and North Gate will be closed starting late July and should last about 3 weeks, please use the South gate entrance.
    • Jeff Bohn, Space Force Delta One announced that North Gate Construction Project on-time, Mid-October completion. Leadership attended Colorado Springs Utilities State of Utilities Address on June 6, 2024. Change of Command announced, Colonel David Hanson will change out July 11 to Colonel Kenneth Klock. Vice Commanders Colonel Sarah Babbitt and Colonel Randy Combs are also transitioning out in the next 30 days. Change of Command is July 11. On May 18 Space Base Delta One attended the signing for Governor Polis Purple Star School legislation into law.

Yolanda Avila moved to approve the consent item, seconded by Todd Dixon. The motion carried unanimously.

  1. 2023 Fiscal Audit Presentation with Stockman Kast Ryan- Carol McBroom, Finance Director
    • Holly Williams made a motion to approve the item, seconded by Todd Dixon. The motion carried unanimously.

  1. Military Installation Resilience Review Grant Update-Paul Rochette, Military Planning & Program Manager
  2. Building Update Carol McBroom, Finance Director
    • Dave Donelson made a motion to approve pursuing a line of credit for $665,000 from A&B Bank to be used to ensure cash flow, seconded by Kellie Case. The motion carried unanimously.
  3. Bylaws Changes for Legislative Committee-Jared Verner, Public Information Officer

AGENDA ITEM 8: MEMBER ENTITY ANNOUNCEMENTS

Stan VanderWerf announced that the El Paso County Fair is from July 13-20.

Kellie Case announced that Woodland Park will be hosting the Old Fashioned 4th of July celebration will be held at Memorial Park from 9AM-3PM, followed up by the Symphony Above the Clouds from 5PM-9:30PM.

Glant Havenar announced that there will be no fireworks show on the 4th of July and that the Town of Palmer Lake is currently having a controlled burn.

Jeff Mosher announced that Cripple Creek will host the Mustang Rally will be held on June 15-16 and the Donkey Derby Days from June 28-30.

Dave Donelson announced that the Western Street Breakfast will be held on June 20, 2024.

Holly Williams announced that elections are coming and to make sure you get out and vote.

Todd Dixon announced the Green Box Arts Festival will be held from July 1 – 14.

Sharon Thompson announced the City of Fountain will be hosting a car show at John Metcalfe Park on July 13, 2024.
